Sunday 5th November 2023

***We have received a pair of prescription sunglasses that were plucked out of the upper river this morning. If you believe they are yours, get in touch***

It's a mostly sunny day with only a very light breeze here in Turangi today. The patchy showers we've had throughout the week haven't affected the river flow much as it currently sits at 26.0m3/sec.

The warmer evenings have produced some great dry fly action with plenty of fish willing to come up to a Para Adams or Elk Hair Caddis pattern. The pre work lake edge fishing has been keeping the staff here occupied with plenty of rainbows to the net of all shapes and sizes as well as some close calls with monstrous brown trout that have kept some of us lying awake at night thinking about what could have been! An array of Pat Swift smelt patterns have been producing for us with smaller flies doing well on the calmer mornings.

Looks like we are forecasted for a few more patchy rain showers to start the week with it clearing up towards the weekend. With a bit of warm weather both the lake and river fishing will really start to pick up and you can be sure we'll be waiting with rod in hand!
