Another stunning day for the Central Plateau seeing blue skies and calm conditions for both river and lake fishing.
A reminder to all that Lake Otamangakau closes today and reopens on the 1st of March.
So far, it's been an epic season seeing most of the shop staff out there whenever possible, and we have been so fortunate with many sunny days there in contrast to the rain endured the previous season. It's a challenging fishery but one that caters to all methods including nymphing, stripping streamers and dry fly fishing. If you are thinking of heading there for March but do not have a boat, you can fish from the edges or alternatively hire a pontoon rowboat from the shop for $75 per day.
