Tongariro River Flow: 25.8m3/sec

Weather: Mostly Sunny

The Tongariro River is looking especially picturesque with a side of dry/dropper fishing today and if you are up for a wander be sure to have a wading staff for balance on those slippery rocks and boulders. Some stunning browns caught have been reported throughout the weeks of summer and there doesn't seem to be a pause which keeps the anglers coming into town hungry for more.

New in this week 👉👉👉

Pat Swift Jigging Flies have been topped up instore, so get in quick before they are all gone! Our AHREX hook range and stripping baskets have been topped up. AHREX has quickly become one of the staple brands for the fly tyers who frequent the store, try them out for yourself and see what the fuss is about.

The lake edge fishing continues to fire with various smelt fly patterns working well on intermediate line or up to a sink 5 depending on the depth and conditions. Fish in better nick were caught on a fast "roly-poly" retrieve while the slimmer ones were caught on a slow retrieve... So fast retrieve it was 😉
