Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi. A cool breeze is blowing as of 8:30am (almost feels like we are back in Winter). All rivers are fishable.

Wow did the wind pick up during the day here in Turangi yesterday !!  This will make the fly fishing interesting for those out on the river !! It tapered off a bit towards sunset though.

Here is a little bit of delayed coverage from the end of last month.  Mark was Harling out at the Southern End at Lake Taupo and bagged these beauties. Others have reported picking up fish in quite shallow water. Pick your days with the wind !! Traditional harling flies at this time of year are usually Yellow Lady's and Green Orbits.  You can also harl medium or baby cobras and 7 or 10 gram tobys. Usually at the change of light is good either very early in the morning or late in the evening.

LOST PROPERTY - Contact us here at Sporting Life

Just thought I'd let you know that on the off chance anyone has been in to ask about any lost property that I found a  memory stick and a spare battery in a plastic bag on the Tongariro river about two weeks ago.

Feel free to pass on this email address if anyone claims it.
