Overcast, humid, drizzly rain falling.  No wind as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro has come up a bit overnight to about 42 cumecs as of 9:00am.  Reports of a touch of colour to the river ..... perfect for nymphing and also swinging a wet.

We had a local fishing guide call into the shop yesterday who had seen his first green beetle of the season !  Bring it on.

The hatches may slow a little due to the colder / wetter weather especially for the evening rise, however sometimes you can get some good Mayfly Hatches on these wetter days. I have seen fish taking stuff off the surface when the water has been a brown colour.   It always pays to be OBSERVANT and have the dries on standby.
