Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  A heavy dew on the ground this morning.  No wind as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro is clear and fishable.

Finally we seem to be getting a reasonable end to the Summer. Some really nice stable weather with some blue sky and sunshine. Better late than never. The poplar trees have really turned yellow and have started losing their leaves.

A little bit of information on the bee picture I showed on last weeks reports.  Steve B writes:

Hi Jared

The bees on the sand are collecting water. When bees are on a honey flow they need water as well so you will often see them on river edges or puddles or troughs etc.

There has been some good fishing at the river mouths over the last few weeks with most anglers reporting catching something. Reports have indicated a good mixture of fish.  There have been plenty of spent rainbows reported caught but they are providing some action for anglers.

Andrew has been doing quite well at the mouths over the last few weeks. The picture below is a good brown he caught on Friday evening at one of the mouths on Lake Taupo.
