Fine and sunny start to the day today. No wind or rain as of 9:00am. The Tongariro River is clear and fishable.

With the really good Spring weather that we have been having it is well worth fishing a dry fly during the day.  The fish are actively feeding at present. Parachute Adams, Irresistible Wulff, Blue Dun, and Adams Moosetail flies would be worth a burn.

Not many reports from Lake O at this stage.  Heard better reports from the spin fishermen up there using black and gold toby, black and copper toby lures.  One angler reported the fish chokka full of snails, so a good deduction from this is the fly angler should look at snail patterns if nymphing or even stripping black woolly buggers.
