Overcast and cool start to the day today. No wind as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro is highly fishable at about 25 cumecs.

Anglers are reporting no shortage of fish in the Tongariro with some nice fresh ones reported in amongst them.

Few reports from the Lake at present with those actually heading out looking to use the Traffic Light and green flash toby. Try harling in the shallower water using green orbits or yellow lady or wriggle tail smelt.

(Below) The following pictures and email are thanks to Paul Mikkelson who fished the Tongariro a couple of days ago ... I thought rather keen to be in shorts .... I'm shivering just looking at that!  Paul writes:

Kia ora Jared,

Thought you might like to know the 101 Category 3 fly out performed the caddis yesterday! Probably 75% of fish on the 101.
Although the fish weren’t huge it was a fun arvo when the rain cleared. Quite a few small freshies about with the odd recovering fish. Thanks for the flies and advice btw.

Regards
Paul

(Below) Notice how all of the fish are hooked in the top of the mouth.
