Fine and sunny start to the morning here in Turangi today. No wind as of 8:30am. Perfect fly fishing weather. The Tongariro River is highly fishable.

Some great Autumn weather here in Turangi at present. Perfect for fly fishing without the wind.

There are quite a few anglers passing through having a crack at the rivers.  Quite a few are exploring some of the smaller rivers such as the Hinemaiaia and Tauranga-Taupo. While the sun is out it is good to see if you can spot fish and cast to them.

Reports of nice fresh fish in most rivers.  Need some more rain at this stage to get a few more pulses running through.

(Below) I was sent in this picture and email yesterday thanks to Dick Le Fort.  Dick writes:

Yesterday's catch just after I was broken off by the biggest fish I've had on in recent seasons!
