Fine and sunny.  A cool SE blowing. The Tongariro still contains some colour, an olivey green perfect for fishing.  Pete said he could see about a meter down. Ideal for both wetlining and nymphing.

I went for a look down to the Tongariro River after work yesterday evening about 7:00pm.  The water was still a light brown colour but looked fishable. A couple of anglers were fishing below the S.H.1 road bridge and a few around the Major Jones.

The Poplar tree just down the road has lost about 95% of it leaves and the oak trees in town are just getting the first hints of orange colour to their leaves.  Autumn is well on the way.

Today the river looks great to fish and should get even better as the day progresses ... any volunteers to work for me today ?
