2:15pm The Boss has said the Tauranga-Taupo has come up and is coloured.  The Tongariro is up to about 32 cumecs but is still fishable.

Overcast, warm, humid, light drizzle falling at times. No wind as of 9:00am. The Tongariro is highly fishable this morning. Andrew went out for a flick before work this morning and had a little bit of fun.  He reported catching a few but mostly smaller fish around the pound and a half. Unfortunately work got in the way and he had to abandon the river !

It will be interesting to see if we get some rain out of the forecast today however the rain radar doesn't look too promising. Always remember that if the river is LOW and CLEAR it is ALWAYS fishable unlike a few anglers who got caught out a couple of weeks ago with the 200 cumec flood ..... for some it was a wasted trip as they couldn't really fish effectively.

Reminder: The upper reaches of all fishable rivers are now closed as of the 1 June (exception is the Waipakihi) and will reopen 1 December, also remember that Lake Otamangakau is closed until 1 October.  Lake Kuratau remains open for the rest of this month.

NEW SEASON TAUPO FISHING LICENCES are required for 1 July
