Fine and sunny here in Turangi this morning. A slight breeze as of 9:00am, however this has really picked up to gusting during the day over the last few days. The Tongariro is clear and fishable.  We had some good overnight rain last night. This will keep things fresh and hopefully keep the ground soft for the cicadas.

Andrew and his mate Connor went for a walk up the TT river yesterday to have a look and it sounds like you might be best sticking to the Tongariro ... a long walk to enjoy fishing .... a long walk to catch very few.

(Above) My roving reporter has been going crazy walking up and down the river over the last few days !!  No wonder he has a slim profile ;-)  This is the head of the Kamahi Pool on the Tongariro River.

(Below) The tail of the Kamahi Pool.  This is one of the more scenic pools on the river.

(Below) A shot of the farm on the way up to the Kamahi Pool. The grass growth is going crazy at the moment.

(Below) Jens has been out for the evening rise on the Tongariro a bit and sent in this picture of his Sporting Caddis with the email below:

From the left the first one got 1 fish, the second got 10 fish, the third got no fish…….yet!
