Overcast here in Turangi today. The Tongariro, Tauranga-Taupo and Hinemaiaia rivers are fishable. Some wind at this stage, gusting at times, may increase later in the day. The rivers looked to have got a good flush but have come down quickly and are worth fishing.

The Tongariro has dropped right back down to about 30 cumecs this morning and should be ideal for wetlining and nymphing. We never got as much rain as we thought we were going to get but this should have pushed some good fish up all rivers.

(Below) The Tauranga-Taupo river at about 9:00am this morning. The level has dropped and it is a nice greeny colour.
