Thursday 15th September 2016

Overcast, light rain falling. No wind. The Tongariro is a nice emerald green colour. Some really nice fresh run fish moving through the rivers now with this rain. Most anglers are catching fish. Great conditions for both wetlining and nymphing.

Don't delay in getting out there as some really nice fish are coming through.  Also keep your eyes peeled for rising fish as we have had quite a few Mayflies hatching over the last week.

Some of the better conditioned fish I have caught have been on glo bugs over the last week or so but feisty fish have been caught on the naturals.

Don't forget the recreational release in the Tongariro on Saturday 17th

A reminder that Lake Otamangakau and Kuratau open on 1st October

(Above & Below) A little bit of delayed coverage from last week thanks to Andrew.

(Below) Andrew impersonating what a trout would look like once it has been hooked by a size #16 nymph !  More like a stunned mullet ? The utter look of surprise!
