Overcast but fine. A slight SE breeze here in Turangi this morning. The Tongariro River is clear and fishable.

We had some good reports of fresh run fish in the Tongariro this morning. Some nice conditioned rainbows have been reported.

Most anglers were nymphing today.

Any bit of rain or low pressure drop we get over the next few weeks will see some more rainbows start to run the river.  Still early days yet but they are there if you are prepared to fish some water and move locations.

Peter Carty was out and about on the Tongariro River this morning and picked up this nice conditioned rainbow swinging an Intruder fly on his double hand fly rod.
