Overcast with high cloud. No wind as of 10:00am.  The Tongariro is fishable.

Not so cold this morning with the cloud cover.  We must have had a bit of rain overnight but nothing too serious. The ground was wet this morning upon waking up.

Still a gaggle of anglers hammering the hole under the state highway one bridge.  It would be nice to have anglers send in photos from other parts of the river for a change ..... a popular pool yes, but there are many other places on the river to catch a fish.

(Below) Peter Carty forgot his glasses again for this photo ;-) .... He spotted this angler with a nice silver fresh that he had just landed on the Tongariro this morning.

(Above & Below) A couple of photos and email thanks to Tim Lee who looked to have had a great time fishing here in Turangi over the weekend. The top fish is a really nice fat rainbow.  Tim writes:

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would send you a couple of pics of fish from the weekend. We fished the TT on Saturday, low and clear, lots of fish but not taking. We persisted and they came on the feed around 2pm, managed to pull 7 out of one pool, all around the 2.5 to 3.5lb mark. They all took the glow bug.

Fished the Hinemaiaia on Sunday, plenty of fish, plenty of gear left in the bushes. Hooked 7 but only got 3 into the net, good fighters.

Enjoy the Pics.
