Fine and sunny. No wind as of 9:00am.  All rivers are clear and fishable.  It appears the weather has settled a bit now which is good. Slightly warmer temperatures during the day.  The wind has eased a bit too which will benefit the fly angler and the boat fisherman.

We had some really good reports yesterday from anglers who managed to get into some nice fresh fish in the Tongariro.  It seems to be pockets of them in various places. Some pools appear to be holding more recovering fish but other areas are holding some nice fresh fish.

Other anglers were doing well using the dry fly / dropper combo.  This is great for shallow water.  The pressure has eased a bit on the river now that the backcountry areas have opened but have still had anglers calling in to say some of their local waters are still a bit high so they have come through to give the Tongariro a nudge.

Reports from the Tauranga-Taupo river indicate a few darker fish.

It looks like the fishing should be great over the up-coming holiday weekend of Labour Weekend.  We also had some anglers call in mid week before the long weekend to have a crack before the visitors turn up.
