A nice fine sunny day to start with in Turangi today. All rivers are fishable today. The Tongariro is basically back to its normal level from the flood a few days ago and anglers have reported catching fish pretty much straight away.  The odd reports of some nice fresh silver rainbows coming through.

The cicadas went very quiet during the rain but have now reappeared that the sun has come out.  Saw quite a few sparrows yesterday flying around with cicadas in their beaks that they had caught while the cicadas are sluggish and slow due to the cold morning temperatures.

I received this photo this morning thanks to Jens Muller-Buckland who looked like he headed up to Lake Otamangakau for a fish last night.

(Above & Below) A little bit of delayed coverage from the other day with Jens fishing Lake Taupo.
