Fine and sunny in Turangi today. All rivers are fishable. The cicadas have come out again now that the temperatures have picked up and the sun has come back out.  They almost disappeared during the rain from last week.  The temperatures are a little on the cool side first thing in the morning which is slowing them down but come mid morning they start making their noise yet again.

The odd fresh rainbow has been reported caught in the Tongariro ... mostly on the nymph at this stage.

Jens looks like he had a good night up at Lake Otamangakau last night.  He looks to be on form at present after suffering a little bit of "Mojo" loss.  Evening rises have been reported up there.

(Below) Check out the length on this rainbow !!
