Overcast start to the day. Calm, no wind.  All rivers are clear and fishable.

I'm still getting anglers calling into the shop saying they are experiencing rising fish.  Mostly smaller ones which will most likely still be going for passion vine hoppers but also the odd report of evening rises. Keep your eyes peeled and you never know what you may encounter.  I have also noticed a heap of wasps down by the river, especially hanging around willow trees. Just watch where you walk as you may disturb a nest and get them worked up enough to attack you.  Normally if they are in the Willow trees they are not interested in you.  The thing is that when you walk past, you hear the buzzing of them as there are so many!! In the past I have seen them feeding on Aphids that are tapping into the Willow tree.  Also they could be after the sticky sap from the aphids / tree.

A few reports of some better conditioned fish at the mouths.  A few nice fresh ones should be trickling up river now. Also getting some better results from the boaties in terms of better conditioned fish.  Some rain should get these moving closer to heading up the rivers.

The Autumn so far has been warmish and wettish which should produce some great mushroom / fungi displays.  Some years you see heaps walking along the river, other years not so many.  A good one to watch out for is the basket fungus.

As part of fishing I am always checking out what else is around that may be interesting ----- ( fishing is not all about catching fish you know !!

Seasons are on the change ... the Canadian Geese are starting to fly over ....

(Above & Below) I spotted this fungus the other day .... I have never seen one like this before. I Googled it and put in starfish fungus and came up with a thing called Aseroe Rubra .

So, here is a bit more useless information. For those of you who didn't even know Blue Mushrooms existed, then even fewer of you will have noticed that they appear on our $50 note ;-)
