Lake fishing is hot when the wind allows

and this last weekend was the Motuoapa fishing contest which saw 81 fish weighted in. The main comment was that the fish were in better condition this year, many with a condition factor of over 50. The winning fish (3) were each over 9lb..No photos hopefully later. Sounds like a lot of happy anglers.

Photos below are from the weekend with Alexandras nice rainbow at the wharf at Tokaanu, a short handled net was a handicap, and Wayne Shea jigged up a good looking brown from the Kuratau area. Son Isaac was in the action too with an even better looking fish or is it just the other side.
