Fine and sunny to start the day here in Turangi today.  All rivers are clear and fishable.

The noise of the cicadas has quietened off but it is still highly worthwhile having a flick with one. The mornings have been a lot cooler but the temperature picks up later in the day.

Anglers have reported seeing quite a few dead fish in various places. Best to report to the Department of Conservation and not to us.

I have noticed that the poplars in the area are starting to change to a yellow colour !!!  Is Autumn just around the corner ? I hope we are in for one of those Indian Summers where the summer just keeps going well into the Autumn with nice golden light.

Here are some more great pictures thanks to Jens Muller-Buckland.  Looks like he has been having a bit of fun up the Tauranga-Taupo River and at Lake Otamangakau.

Jens writes:

Another brilliant  day with rain and rising fish. Can't remember when the green grocer  cicadas where last so effective. Had a few spectacular rises, hard hits and flies lost. But in the end we did record half a dozen that where a bit slower. So here is a selection from a bad days wading and a quiet time enjoying the views
Cheers
Jens
