Overcast with light drizzly rain falling here in Turangi today.  No wind as of 11:00am.  The Tongariro is clear and fishable.

Over the last few days I have seen some photos of really good fish being caught in the Tongariro. Most spoken to have been nymphing using small naturals such as Pheasant Tail, Hare and Coppers, Green and White Caddis.

I received this photo and email this morning thanks to Jason Bleibtreu from River Birches Lodge. Jason writes:

Fishing is good. Our limit was caught by 7:45am this morning on Lake Taupo while jigging. Local fishing guide Whiskery Mike knows all the secret spots.
