Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  We got some good soaking overnight rain which was much needed. No wind as of 9:00am, however over the last few days the wind has really been picking up from mid day to late afternoon and gusting pretty hard.

Andrew was about over the last few days and headed up to Lake Otamangakau and wanted to check out the new walking track up to the North Arm. He said the track was really good. He started before the gate on the main boat ramp side of the lake and the track went about a 1km up towards the North Arm.  This will give good access to shore based anglers who do not have a boat.

He spotted a few browns cruising the edges but broke his rod on the first fish.

Andrew said it looks like preparations are underway to start a track from the main boat ramp to where the inlet canal meets the Lake.

Bill Grace, local fishing guide was in the shop just now and said the jigging out on Lake Taupo has been pretty good just recently.
