Foggy start to the morning in Turangi this morning.  This has burnt off by 9:30am to produce a nice sunny day.  No wind. The temperatures have taken a dive in the mornings here in Turangi.  Almost time to change to long pants with shoes and socks !  Mind you the daytime temperatures have been nice at around 19 degrees celcius.  Ideal fishing weather with the cool crisp air.

Little birdies have been whispering in my ear that some nice fish have been coming out of the Tongariro.

The pictures below are a little bit of delayed coverage.  Still playing catch-up after my time off.

(Above) The picture above and two pictures below are thanks to Warren Hales. The rainbow above looked to be a "horse" alright.  Check out how wide this fish is in the picture below. Warren writes:

Gidday Folks,

Just thought I'd drop a couple of photos after you gave me some advise on what to do while fishing in your area. The hen is a PB coming in at 12lb 2oz from Lake O and as you can see she was in great condition. I released her to let someone else enjoy the thrill of playing a "horse".

The last photo is of a nice fresh rainbow taken on Green wooly bugger wet lining in the bridge pool.

Thanks again and see you next year. Warren Hales   Victoria

(Below) Bevin Jordan sent in this picture from the 21st April 2017. Just look at how nice that river looks.  I really love fishing on these bright sunny days.
