Overcast with steady light rain falling. No wind as of 9:00am. The Tongariro is highly fishable. Fish getting slayed out there at the moment. Not much to say today but the only thing I can recommend is  "" Best you pull a sickie ;-) ""

(Below) Pete went to check out the Tongariro this morning and reported few anglers below the SH1 road bridge however he said he found a small colony of anglers in the "Bridge Pool" of old.

Hi Jared

Had the best day on the Tongariro Tuesday; I haven't seen so many fish being taken in years. They were all good fish. I landed 6, had a couple of big bust offs and a couple of mid-stream releases.

This maiden hen in the picture above was just over 5lbs and one of the best condition fish I have ever caught.

Looking forward to getting out again today!

Cheers

and a report from yesterday

Hi Jared

Went up river today but it was hard work so came back to town and fished the lower bridge pool.  Another 6 landed and as many lost.  An even mix of jacks and hens..... which was unusual.  Plenty of fishers harvesting and walking out with 3 or 4 fish
