Fine and sunny. A very cold, blustery SW wind screaming through town as of 9:00. The Tongariro is highly fishable today. There's going to be a few frozen anglers out there today ..... roll on Summer !!

Anglers are generally reporting catching fish in ALL rivers.  It appears with the rain from last week the fish have really made a push to run. Usual story ..... what has been good for most of the year usually gets better as we head towards Spring.

(Below) The day is fine but a screaming bitter cold wind is blowing.  The Tongariro is clear and fishable today but most anglers are looking for a sheltered spot out of the wind.

(Below) The Boss managed to get out for a fish yesterday and reported a few hook-ups and landed this fat hen. He enjoys his wetlining.
