Fine and sunny with some high cloud about. No wind as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro is flowing at a fishable 36 cumecs with a touch of colour.

Fresh fish reported caught already this morning. We had some really heavy rain just after sunset yesterday but it doesn't look to have done too much to the river today.  Peter Carty reported a slight touch of colour to the river which should help anlgers. It appears some sunshine is due this week.  The ground is still pretty sodden .... for those bach / holiday home owners ... the grass is just starting to grow.

A few more anglers over the last few days have reported seeing Mayflies hatching with the odd rising fish.

(Below) I received this email and photos yesterday thanks to Kathryn Vinten.  She looks to have headed out onto Lake Taupo on one of the very few sunny days that we have had all year !!!

Hi Jared

Friday afternoon was magic on the lake. This 5lb jack was one of four fish landed whilst harling off Pukawa.   Shame I had to come home! It will be in my smoker Sunday evening and shared with friends on Monday.
Aren't we lucky to live in paradise?
