Monday 30th April 2018

Overcast with high cloud and the odd patch of blue sky.  No wind or rain as of 8:45am.  The flow on the Tongariro is reported as a highly fishable level of 27 cumecs.

It appears a few browns were caught yesterday by those anglers who actually went fishing, also some reports of disgruntled anglers who turned up to find the river coloured and didn't want to fish. As I reported the other day just keep fishing in the dirty water and this will be your chance to secure a good sized brown trout, especially using the wetline.

I just headed home for lunch and got back to " The Office " and found this email of a cracker Tongariro River brown trout that Seth Fasher had caught today. See, it is really worthwhile fishing while the water is coloured and dirty ....

Seth writes:

Good afternoon Gents, Just a quick smoker run this morning, river is dirty but the browns are in.  This fella going 11.75lb.
Have a great day and thanks for the quality equipment.
