Highly Fishable

Fine and sunny with a bit of cloud about. A cool gentle Zephyr is blowing at this stage …. may increase during the day.  The Tongariro is highly fishable this morning. The Tauranga-Taupo river was a bit high yesterday but has come down to .6 in level today and should be a boomer to fish today, especially as the level drops a bit more …. don’t wait too long though.

New licences for the Taupo Fishery are now required.  You may purchase these prior to your arrival in Turangi at the following address

School Holidays appear to be starting this weekend ……. next thing it will be Christmas Holidays !!

A report from a boating angler who has been out – keen as in these conditions  ……..  Copper Toby or Green and Gold Cobra.

(Below) I tootled off for a look at the river at the end of my lunch break ….. no anglers in the Major Jones Pool here at about 12:50pm.  The wind was blowing through here though and it was a bit chilly.

(Below) Looking upstream to the Breakfast Pool and just one angler in here who wound up and left just after I took the photo.

(Below) Check out how nice that looks !!
