“WE HAVE A DATE FOR THE SPORTING LIFE WINTER FLY FEST 2019 – SATURDAY AUGUST 10TH 2019”

We have a prolonged bit of sunshine on the way and the river has dropped back down to 23 cumecs after the spike yesterday from the works completed by Genesis on the Poutu Canal. It’s looking good for the weekend and I will be away for the next couple of days on the river fishing with Kana before she heads home to Japan.

I had her Dad and friend staying with me for the last few days for a bit of fishing. I t was a an excellent tour and quite challenging as both her parents are deaf and the friend who came with was also deaf so guiding them onto fish was a new challenge for me and we worked some signals and shoulder taps for when to strike and where to cast and the lads did very well picking solid rainbows on the Euro Nymph setup.

We took in a few sites around Turangi on their Journey and it hit home what an amazing place the Central Plateau is and how much there is to see. Quality fishing, Quality Surroundings and Awesome people. If you haven’t made plans to visit Turangi yet, get onto it as the ski season is not far away, the winter runs are slowly making there move up river and will be getting more and more intense in the coming months.

Come be a part of it all and call in and get yourself geared up.

See you at Sporting Life Fishing Outfitters – Turangi
