Its sunny and still to start the morning here in Turangi.

I set out on my first lake edge night mission yesterday but she turned out very quiet exploring a new bit of water that I hadn’t fished before but the potential is there. It was a beautiful night after the howling winds all day.

We will be on the Tongariro river mouth tonight till late looking to launch the boat around 7ish.

I have been keen on this mission for a while and hoping it will produce some solid fish on the move swinging and stripping streamers.

The quality of the Brown Trout being landed on the Tongariro are outstanding. They are a rewarding fish to stalk and to land as they are not easy so quality angling is often required. This summer all my big browns have come on Gold Bead Woolly Buggers but its about to be Dry Fly Stalking season for me and this Monday will be the first dedicated all day session this summer.

Getting a bit busy in the shop now but pop in and say g’day and get yourself geared up.
