Cracking day here today and as has become the norm, the Cicadas are deafening.

I’ve just had a couple of days off, so aren’t really up with the play as to whats been happening. I know there was some nice fish caught over the weekend by a couple of mates.

I took my favourite small stream rod, the Sage Little One (I’m not ashamed to say I have a Little One) for a walk yesterday evening. I caught nothing, but had a great time casting a #4 Cicada to “dinks”. It was hilarious. Your fly would disappear in a splash like a Labrador had jumped in and your fly would still be floating. I’m guessing that the fly was a little on the large side. When I went to change it to a small emerger, I noticed that the foam was covered on tooth marks. They’re ambitious young things. As my old Gran would say “their eyes bigger than their belly”. I might have to go and torment them again this evening 🙂

Jared and I are on deck today.

Tight lines,

Pete
