Its started as a pearler here in Turangi this morning. The sun is out and the winds are low and the Tongariro River looks amazing.

Rene Vaz from @Manic Tackle Project and Gareth Jones from Airflo Fishing who I fished the last couple of days with have hit the upper Tongariro this morning, I have had to come into work but it looks like being a good day for them with Garth Oakden and the Tongariro River Rafting crew. I have loaded a couple of photos of 2 of the Tanks the boys landed yesterday. It was a excellent session in good company and quality fishing.

Kyle Smith sent these photos in from his trip to the Tongariro a couple of days ago and the lads had a ball landing a dozen between the 2 of of them and some absolute stunners. The lads swung and retrieved Woolly Buggers for the day. Looks like we are starting to get some good action already on the TongariroSome of the fish landed lately are in excellent knick. I’m still waiting to hear some really good feedback on the River Mouths but it is about this time every year according to my diary that I have had quality fishing at night and mornings on the mouths.I’m going to grab a coffee and slip back into bliss here in Turangi knowing that it’s only a few more hours till I can get out and swing some flies. You should be on the Trail here too and getting among st it and getting yourself geared up. See you at Sporting Life Fishing Outfitters – Turangi.
