Overcast. Humid feel. The odd spot of light drizzle falling at times. No wind as of 9:00am. The Tongariro is flowing at about 26 cumecs and is fishable.
Wow did it pour down last night !! The rain was pretty heavy on the roof. The Tongariro has come up a wee bit but nothing dramatic. The good thing with the Tongariro is that the power scheme usually sucks the water off and keeps the flows relatively even compared to some of the back country rivers. As a consequence we get plenty of fishable days.
Andrew reports plenty of fish in the Tongariro River at present.
I have just had my first report from an angler of green beetles spotted out Kuratau way. From now on the number of these should increase as we head towards next month.
1:30pm Just had local angler Graham Hamilton who had just come off Lake Taupo who was out fishing at the Delta. Graham landed this nice rainbow trout. He said it was quite a good one for this time of the year.
