Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  Just a slight cool breeze blowing as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro has got just a touch of colour to it, highly fishable and flowing at about 25 cumecs.

Reports from the mouths seem to have indicated a bit of a slow down out there … to be expected after the rain with most of those fish possibly have moved into the rivers now. Activity may increase again if we end up with a high pressure system for a few days before the next front that comes over the country.

Reports from the river yesterday indicated a little slower for some having trouble to find the fish but the other odd few anglers having had great success. Seems like the fishing was great for some one day, then they went back the next and said no fish there … maybe the fish moved on ???

(Above & Below) Neil went out for a stroll this morning to have a look at the river.  This is looking upstream to the Hydro Pool from above the Major Jones Swing Bridge. He said not a Soul / Sole  up in the Hydro.

(Below) Looking downstream from the Swing Bridge.  Just one angler at the top here.  They packed up just after Neil took the photo.
