Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  A bit of a blustery breeze blowing in town today.  The Tongariro is clear and fishable.

Some good reports of anglers having success for the evening rise in the Tongariro.  The rises have been quite epic over the last week or so. If you have never done it you should get out now and do it. As I have said many times before … now is a great time of the year to fish the Tongariro as you have so many options available to you.

Trolling still seems to be the go out on Lake Taupo ….. traffic lights, black and gold tobys are worth a burn

(Below) The Green, Green Grass of Home …. This is on the Eastern side of the Tongariro River Trail or true right bank of the river looking downstream.  The Tongariro River Trail is a nice walking track to do if you would like to get a bit of exercise, and it is a nice smooth track if you are into mountain biking.  This is looking across the farmland to the Umukarikari Range.

(Below) This is a short video of crossing the Major Jones Swing Bridge.  Some of you stuck overseas will probably miss going for a stroll over this.
