Highly Fishable

Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi this morning. No wind as of 9:00am.  A complete contrast to yesterday with the snow. Still, that is what I call good Spring weather. The Tongariro is flowing at about 27 cumecs and is highly fishable today.
Some fresher fish were reported caught in the Tongariro yesterday as well as a mixture of spent fish.  A sunny day like today might pay to look at fishing a dry / dropper in the shallower areas of the river.
It is quite funny .. last week anglers were almost melting on the river in 22 degree temperatures and then yesterday were wrapped up coping with the snowy conditions !  As I said the yesterday … any conditions any time in the Spring !!  Be prepared for hot and cold.
(Below) I received this email and photos yesterday thanks to Wanganui Wayne who has been out of fishing action for a while due to medical complications.  He’s now back in action and been giving the fish a tickle up.
Good morning the crew of Sporting Life.
Thanks for all your help. Had great few days last week fishing and catching up. Caught some great fish and was smoked from some great fish. I was lucky only caught 1 recovering fish  the whole time. The condition of the fish landed was the best I have seen for a long time, fresh run as well. Have enclosed  some photos of the first  I caught , now back after 20 months out. Look forward the the next trip.
Regards Wayne
