Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  A very cool, crisp nip to the air first thing. A very light breeze blowing first thing this morning.  The Tongariro is clear and fishable.

I was out in the garden last night and noticed a heap more Passion Vine Hoppers drilling into the lemon tree. The weather is a lot different this Summer compared to last Summer.  It seems a lot cooler this year.  Last year was a boomer year for Passion Vine Hoppers. Just one of those out of the box.  The fish went nuts on them last year.  We should see more of these Passion Vine Hoppers appear over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed the weather plays ball. Windy days are usually quite good to fish for these as the gusts of wind usually blow them off the bushes. We have a good stock of Peter Carty’s Passion Vine Hopper Patterns in store at present.

Don’t forget the Tongariro Recreational Release on Saturday 20th.

(Below) I was out for a fish last week and decided to sit down for lunch.  I was attacked by Kamikaze Sandflies !!! I must smell good, or there must be something they like about me !!! I always get blitzed by them.  They were quite big too !

(Below) Check out these horses !! You could put a Saddle on them and ride off into the sunset on one of these!! I even had them giving me heaps in the middle of the Winter last year on the Tongariro too. The Simms Neoprene Guard sox are good for wet wading and I pull them up like a long sock to keep the bugs off as well.
