Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today. Around about 8 degrees celcius to start the day.  We should be in for a slightly warmer afternoon. Still no rain in sight.

The really strong wind that we had yesterday may have blown a lot of Passion Vine Hoppers off the bushes and onto the water.  Had one angler in the shop yesterday who said the fish were still feeding on them.  Hopefully they will continue for a week or two yet.

Wetlining in the river is worth a go at the moment.  Fish have been taking dark green olive woolly buggers.

We are burning through March pretty quickly now.  The leaves are really starting to change colour.  Not long until the Easter Holidays and School holidays.  A good chance to self isolate in your batches/holiday homes and head out fishing 😉  This will be a good time to target the bigger browns that are in the river at present. If the weather is good and calm it would be even better to self isolate out on a boat on Lake Taupo … should be some really fat fish that are worth catching now 😉
