A fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi today.  No wind as of 9:00am, however this may pick up and become very gusty and blustery later in the afternoon. All rivers are clear and fishable.

Most anglers are enjoying the  ” Summer ” fishing conditions with most picking up fish.  Most anglers are nymphing or dry / droppering.  This is a great time of the year as the fish are really into feeding mode. The days have been really hot – up to 28.5 degrees celcius.  This is wet wading territory.  Just remember your sunscreen and take some cool liquid replenishment to fend of dehydration and headaches.

It looks like the evening rise fishing is worth a burn skating the Sporting Caddis. The fish just can’t help but gorge themselves in a feeding frenzy for this.

I went for a little lookie here and there the other day and ended up at Lake Otamangakau.  I went for a fish in the Far Canal and had a bit of a tussle with this one.
