Fine and sunny start this morning here in Turangi. A cool start but I think it is going to get hot today. No wind as of 9:00am but this may increase during the day.  It really blasted through here yesterday. The Tongariro is clear and fishable.

We got blasted big time here in Turangi yesterday by the wind.  It blew hard for most of the day. The only reports through were an angler who missed a take from a fish on a cicada and another couple who had done quite well just before the evening rise the day before skating Sporting Caddis.  Also another angler caught three on a dropper under a dry fly

Plenty of browns being reported by anglers.  It may be almost time for me to make some effort to get out and prick a few in the lips 😉

(Above & Below) I went out for a bike ride yesterday evening.  The looks of these photos can be deceiving … it was blowing hard, however there was one angler who had found a fairly calm pocket.  Apart from the wind, the evening was actually quite nice.

(Below) Looking upstream from the S.H.1 road bridge. Notice the tops of the tall skinny Poplars … they are a bit bent at the top.

(Below) We have a few line deals for the Rio Gold.  Only #5 and #7 left.
