Fine and sunny start to the day here today. Another cracker day.  A little bit cooler. No wind as of 10:00am.  This may pick up in the afternoon.

Neil reports more and more reports of green beetles getting around at the moment. This is good news for the boaties.

Also a few reports of cicadas chirping down by the river. Normally we can get an early start on these and everyone gets excited but then all of a sudden we get a cold snap and it will shut them down again.  If this happens they normally appear around mid January again. They are very temperature dependent ….. too cold and they shut down ….. too hot and dry and the ground appears too hard for them to get out of … normally you will hear them by the river as this ground may be more moist.

Lots of baby trout fry in the edges of the river at present with more browns spotted which will be targeting these and starting to feed on them.

Good evening rises reported with anglers skating Caddis dry flies.  Still the hot pick is the Sporting Caddis.
