Tongariro River Flow: 51.6m3/sec
Weather: Cloudy
The maintenance on the Poutu canal is scheduled for completion on the 28th of April, which is one week from now! Meaning the Tongariro should return to what we call normal 😀 We are excited and looking forward to fishing our usual haunts, and hope to see more chrome fish in the river.
There's been a few fresh fish coming through the Tongariro and Wally, who frequents the shop and entertains us with his banter and tales of the yesteryears has been doing very well on his day's off swinging olive wooly buggers. We have great stock of all the ingredients to cook up a storm at the vise! And it's evident customers have Wooly Buggers on the menu.
Neil, Jesse and I are in store today so come on in for a chat about what's going on in the Central Plateau.
Jack and Steve popped into the shop for a spot of advice about sink tips suitable for the Tongariro, and while we were having a chat Jack showed us this morning's catfish haul!! They're a great option for a fun day of fishing for something new or different, one may need some gloves or a towel as they are darn slippery. These catfish caught by Jack and Steve are destined to be a meal 🍽
