Tongariro River Flow: 27.2m3/sec

Weather: Cloudy 🌥

These last couple of days have been quite different for different anglers fishing all over the place. Some amazing reports of heaps of fresh fish and 12+ days others coming out empty handed. The Tongariro River has been fishing reasonably well with lots of fish spread out through the system and pods trickling into the system every day. The Tauranga-Taupo has been fishing really well with anglers reporting lots of big pods holding in pools lower down, with fish moving up very quickly. The other small rivers in the area have also been fishing really well keeping things super small & having super tippet has been the way to go. The rain that came unfortunately wasn't much and we didn't see much change in the flows of any of the rivers but reports of fresh fish moving up is still an awesome to hear!

I have managed to get out on Thursday afternoon for some errands in Taupo & fished on the way back both in the Hinemaiaia & the Tauranga-Taupo which was fantastic. I did however forget my net and had to land them on the beach which cost me a couple of fish. So here is your reminder to remember your net when fishing & if you don't have a net already check out our great range of nets Here! We also have all the McLean weight nets in all the colors back in stock! Check them out HERE!

Also, a reminder we have Gary tying Slushy's instore! The Slushy material is the best for tying slushy flies & will make tying so much easier than DIY slushy material. Check them out Here!

The Women on the Fly-fishing competition is happening this weekend so Goodluck to all those involved!
