Tongariro River Flow: 25.3m3/sec
Weather: Broken cloud with sunny patches and light winds, reaching 13 degrees
Cold temperatures see fish continue to trickle through the system with higher fish numbers present in those tributaries closer to Taupo. Fishermen report seeing large numbers of fish on the TT, but with river levels still low and clear these fish are proving less than simple to catch. Some recent missions up the Tongariro by the team have provided some good fishing whether swinging streamers or fishing more natural nymphs down deep. However, fish are still patchy so covering a bit of ground and finding where they are holding is important. The forecast is finally predicting rain later in the week with Wednesday looking like a day of solid rain :)
*LOST ROD*
A ''unique'' rod has recently been lost on the Tongariro between Admirals and Kamahi but could be washed further downstream. Let us know if anything turns up!
Theresa and I recently got away for an awesome jigging trip with Pat Swift on Lake Rotoiti. So cool to see the use of modern electronics in fishing and the amount of knowledge that Pat has. It shows why his flies and jig rigs are so successful!
