Monday 28th Of April

Weather: Fine spells and isolated showers. Light winds.

Tongariro River flow: 24.6(m3/sec)

Very busy weekend with lots of anglers down for ANZAC weekend, with reports of most areas of the river having traffic.

We have started the week a bit damp but bits of sunshine coming through occasionally and hopefully more rain to come to get more fresh fish numbers coming up the rivers.

A few fresh fish have run through the Hinemaiaia River. How ever there are some very small fish still in the system as well as a few darker fish. It's very early in the season however with the right conditions, May traditionally fishes well.

(Josh with a nice Delta fish caught yesterday)

With the moon having dropped the river mouths (Wind allowing) will be fishing well.

Lumo flies for the Rainbows and Black flies for the Browns which can be found in the shop.

Ollie has been out with his dad after being in the shop, after a quick chat with staff we caught this nice fresh rainbow. Well-done Ollie!

New Rio Barbless French dip nymphs have arrived instore which have been working very well locally as well as a wide range of other flies so come in and grab some!

Send us any reports and phots of how it's going out there as we would love to know how everyone is getting on! send through to our email sport.life@xtra.co.nz

Tight lines everyone!
