Downpours in Turangi

The heavens opened up overnight and rain continues to pour down on the Central Plateau and looking at the graph the Tongariro river is rising. A few of the boys have been out there since this morning and the report is real good with mostly fresh run rainbows 😀 just make sure you have a good wading/rain jacket and handwarmers which we have in stock!
Connor and Simon are on their way out to the river now so stay tuned for the next report. Fishing in these conditions while the river is rising is often very productive - I'm sure many of you will know this, but if there are readers who have not fished during a fresh we highly recommend it and encourage anyone to come in to town and say gidday as we are happy to help.

🙌New Guideline Arrivals 🙌

Sporting Life - Turangi has recently received a top up on existing gear and introducing new items to the store! Click here to see Guideline products
The Vosso reel caught my inner "magpie sight" an impressive looking reel which is also built tough and happens to be Guideline's most advanced reel.
In store we have the #6/8 & #7/9 models in stock, both suitable for single and double hand rods - there's enough room for line and backing and plenty of grunt to handle New Zealand trout.
Have a look through and read for your self by clicking on the reel photo below:
Jaime had her first spey casting experience yesterday before heading back home and hooked into this well conditioned jack!
Well done J
The boys got into good numbers of fish further up river, onboard the raft with Jesse. A mixed bag of fresh and coloured up rainbows making for a fun day for the boys!
