Tongariro River Flow: 48.4m3/sec
Weather: Sunny 🌞
Another stellar day for the Central Plateau with crisp temperatures and blue skies. The winter fishing is starting to kick off for those out there putting in the time and effort, changing rigs and flies to suit various scenarios. The Tongariro river is looking absolutely beautiful and it's great to see it flowing back to usual levels as maintenance on the Poutu is now complete, and floodwaters from the recent downpours have eased.
There's some great fish around at the moment and Graeme has made the most of the sunny weather by leaving Auckland at 3am like the fishing fiend he is! He reaped the rewards with this lovely brown he initially assumed to be a rainbow as he was in such a hurry to get a photo before sending the fish back home 😅
There's no shortage of condition on this fish as you can see, it's a very rotund finned football 🏈 once again the orange beaded olive wooly bugger got the job done, and Graeme is a happy man.
