Weather: Beautiful sunshine and light to no breeze

Tongariro River Flow: 39.2 cumecs (m³/s)

A glorious day today on the Central Plateau with the sun shining, the big river perfectly coloured and clearing with a bottle green colour, flowing beautifully and great reports all day from anglers on all methods, wetlining, nymphing and euro who have been pulling out good numbers of fresh silver bars!

Eggs and slushies have been cleaning up, with green caddis being another staple menu item with the higher river flows. As the river flow slows, the wetliners would be more inclined to use smaller less blingy streamers.

The other local rivers are still running a bit high and coloured, with rain not forecast again until early next week, we expect good numbers of fish to be making their way up as the water levels recede.

We have had a large Patagonia order come in, with more in transit. We're stocked up with the popular Forra Wading Boots, that have been flying out the door with the continued great reviews, Tote bags, Travel and tackle bags, caps, new season hoodies, t-shirts, a selection of women's Patagonia puffer jackets, fleeces and more! Come see us in store to get yourself kitted out with good quality warm winter gear for this season!

The team have been out enjoying the fishing, dodging the heavy rain that saturated us earlier in the week and exploring new water that the second 700+ cumec flood gifted us after last weekend. The river has changed slightly in many places so definitely worth getting out there for a look and finding your new favourite spot!

See you on the river fellow anglers,

Rosie & Gary
